As part of the recent collaborative partnership between the University of Ancona (UNIVPM) and the Catholic University of America (CUA), the 2nd International Workshop: “Coastal resilience challenges” in conjunction with the 11th conference on “Climate Change: Impacts & Responses” of Common Ground Research Network (http://on-climate.com/2019-conference) has been organized. Workshop and Conference was held at CUA (Washington, DC) in the period 16-17 April 2019. Professor Michele Mossa was invited as a plenary speaker. Prof. Mossa's presentation highlighted some consequences of the climate change due to hydrological alteration and, therefore, in terms of variations of the riparian vegetations which interacts with many fluid flows, changing the ecosystem services. The vegetation variation has consequences also in terms of performance on the dumping of solitary wave (and tsunamis). Prof. Mossa showed some experiments carried out in his laboratory, highlighting international cooperations with other universities.
