36th IAHR World Congress, The Hague, 2015

501

The 36th IAHR World Congress was held at The Hague, the Netherlands, from 28 June to 3 July 2015. The global focus on water has increased rapidly in recent years. Many water issues are high on the political agenda, whether it concerns the lack of access to safe water and sanitation or the increase in water-related disasters due to floods and droughts. Hydro-environment engineering and research is more important than ever.
The 36th IAHR World Congress provided special emphasis on cross-cutting themes related to Deltas of the Future, looking at what happens upstream, linking hydro-environment research to engineering practice, and reaching out to the developing world.
