On November 28, 2024, the first event of the series titled "A Meter of Books" was held at the PoliLibrary of the Politecnico di Bari. This new initiative by the Politecnico di Bari aims to promote technical-scientific culture. Each event in the series features the presentation of a selection of books proposed by a faculty member of the Politecnico, with the goal of exploring together a topic of broad interest. The books presented during each event will enrich the PoliLibrary's collection, an invaluable resource for the Politecnico.
In particular, on November 28, 2024, Prof. Michele Mossa presented "A Meter of Ecohydraulics Books", a collection of books of great scientific value and significant social and economic relevance, focusing on urgent topics such as environmental protection, nature-based methods for safeguarding coasts, fluvial, estuarine, and coastal areas, and marine monitoring systems. Prof. Mossa’s presentation was preceded by a talk from Prof. Daniele Tonina (Co-director of the Center for Ecohydraulics Research, University of Idaho, USA).
The event was chaired by the Rector of the Politecnico di Bari. Special thanks are extended to the PoliLibrary and Library Services staff (Francesca Santoro, Gabriella Guastamacchia, Giuseppina Stea, Magda Maccari, Giulia Ranieri, Giacoma Defrancesco, Marina Liso), the Delegate for Placement and Institutional Communication Mariangela Turchiarulo, the Event Secretariat of the Politecnico di Bari (Rossella Fortunato, Ennio Cusano, Claudio De Falco, and Sara Genghi), the social media team (Flora Franchini, Arnaldo Di Vittorio, Gabriele Montagna), and the Rectorate Secretariat (Silvia Visconti).
