Guided tour of the Taranto Port Authority and the Multipurpose Pier

The visit of the Multipurpose Pier and the Port Authority of Taranto was attended by the students of the II Faculty of Engineering – Taranto of the Politecnico di Bari (course of Maritime Hydraulics of the Civil and Environmental Engineering, Academic Year 2009-2010).
In the rediscovered centrality of the Mediterranean Sea in the framework of global maritime trade, the port of Taranto has to face new business, economical and productive challenges, in order to achieve and maintain the standards of development and levels of competitiveness that are imposed by other European competitors .
The visit, organized at the end of the classes, enabled the students to come into direct contact with the work reality of a typical large port.
