  • From the left: Michele Mossa...

Under the patronage of the Apulian Section of the Italian Hydrotecnique Association this meeting had the main aim of address the correct and sustainable urban drainage design approaches for the preservation of the territory. The planning of measures to protect the environment, preceded by correct studies on possible side effects, is crucial to their success. Furthermore the maintenance works are sometimes to be preferred to continue new works carried out under emergency conditions.
The meeting, organized by the City of Presicce (Lecce, Italy), eng. Francesco Pagliara, undere the patronage of the Apulian Section of the Italian Hydrotecnique Association, was held at the magnificent Palazzo Ducale of Presicce (Ducal Palace of Presicce) and was attended, among others, by Antonio Gabellone (President of the Province of Lecce), Leonardo Puma (Mayor of Presicce) and Massimo Crusi (President of the Association of the Architects of the Province of Lecce).
The speeches were preceded by a guided tour of the splendid hypogeous oil mills of Presicce and a showing of the film on the flood that devastated the town of Presicce in 1957.
