Thursday, October 17 2019 at the headquarters of the MATTM (Ministry of the Environment and Protection of the Land and Sea) two workshops were held on the risk of flooding, addressed to the Southern Apennines District Authority and planned within the intervention line 2 of the Project "Let's put ourselves in RIGA - Integrated strengthening of Environmental Governance" .
After the greeting of the representative of the Ministry in the person of the coordinator of the division IV ing. Rosario Previti, the General Secretary of the Authority Dr. Vera Corbelli started the work moderating them both in the morning and in the afternoon. Good participation with over 60 people. The activity was the A2.1 of the project where the topics covered were the planning and programming tools related to flood risk mitigation and management presented by the Authority's executives: eng. Giacinto Straniero, eng. Massimo Morea; the flood risk assessment in urban areas with the exponent of the technical-scientific world prof. eng. Corrado Gisonni; the management of sediments in the river area presented by the engineers eng. Francesco Tresso, eng. Michele Buffo and the application of numerical models for the preparation and definition of flood risk planning and management tools with eng. Rocco Bonelli. The second part allowed the confrontation on planning and management tools in the field of Water, Soil and Coastal System where institutional and technical-academic experts such as Dr. Vera Corbelli and Eng. Pasquale Coccaro for Water planning and management; prof. eng. Leonardo Cascini on landslide risk management and prof. eng. Michele Mossa on the management of the coastal system. The final debate was attended by the Technical Support Units of the project Let's put ourselves in RIGA / SOGESID SpA, to which the Secretary General addressed a special and heartfelt thanks inviting them to collaborate for the next event in Caserta.
