The second edition of Hydraulics provides all the fundamental knowledge of the discipline necessary for Engineering students, integrating mathematical treatment with applications and solved exercises.
The authors aimed to preserve certain aspects of the classical approach to Italian hydraulics, well-established internationally, making the book a reference text for professionals working in engineering, geology, or other fields that require an understanding of hydraulic laws and practical cases.
In conversation with Professor Michele Mossa were Professor Rosaria Ester Musumeci and Professor Sandro Longo.

Speakers:

Michele Mossa is a full professor of Hydraulics at the Polytechnic University of Bari and president of the International Technical Committee of Ecohydraulics at the IAHR (The International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research). His main research focuses on Environmental and Maritime Hydraulics, with particular attention to wave mechanics, marine currents, localized erosion phenomena, jets in stationary environments or with waves or transverse currents, also with macro-roughness on the bed (ripples or vegetation), flows in channels, and their localized phenomena, such as hydraulic jumps.

Rosaria Ester Musumeci is an associate professor of Hydraulics and Chair of the Master's Degree Program in Water and Transport Civil Engineering at the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture at the University of Catania. She has decades of teaching and research experience in Hydraulic and Maritime Engineering, with an extensive network of national and international collaborations aimed at developing innovative and sustainable solutions for mitigating hydraulic risks and protecting the environment and territory.

Sandro Longo is a full professor of Hydraulics at the University of Parma. His research interests include maritime hydraulics, turbulence, sediment transport, non-Newtonian fluid flows, and gravity currents. He has authored monographs on Hydraulic Measurements and Controls, Principles of Dimensional Analysis and Physical Modeling, and educational textbooks. He has provided numerous consultations in maritime hydraulics, designing or participating in the development of physical models of hydraulic and maritime works. He has been a visiting researcher in Wallingford (UK) and an academic visitor in Granada (Spain) and Cambridge (UK).
