Workshop on physical and numerical modeling in hydraulic engineering

1182

The design of maritime works and in particular of harbor works is a subject of high interest and plays a key role in maritime and coastal engineering discipline. Designing a structure requires also specialist skills considering the issues involved. For this reason, the designer must use different methods, such as physical and numerical modeling to define, optimize and refine design choices. Therefore, the seminar provided an overview of the techniques to be used in this context, with the contributions of four universities which for many years have faced and developed physical and numerical modeling to support the design of maritime and, particularly, harbor works.

On the 7th July 2016 a seminar entitled "Physical and numerical modeling in the design of harbor works: university experiences" at the Parlamentino, Consiglio Superiore dei Lavori Pubblici, Ministero delle Infrastrutture e dei Trasporti – Roma.
